United Democratic Front (India)

United Democratic Front (UDF) is an alliance of political parties of Kerala state in India created by K. Karunakaran[1]. This alliance is led by the Indian National Congress.

In the 2011 assembly elections, UDF defeated the LDF by a mere margin of 72 to 68 seats and came back to power again under the leadership of Oommen Chandy. Before this, the last UDF government (2001-2006) was also led by Oommen Chandi, which lost the state government to the Left Democratic Front in the Kerala Assembly Election.
